So good to see our juniors classes growing with now 6 classes running per week. This term we have been focusing on colour using pastels, acrylic paint and watercolours. Our main focus is learning to see relationships of shapes, values and colour all by working from observation. Keep up the good work kids!
Here are some recommended acrylic paints to work with at home and at the studio. I prefer to use Winsor and Newton Professional Acrylics. Golden are also fantastic. After completing their relief sculptures in clay our folio prep students have now made their plaster mould. We started off with a skim coat to capture details followed by a thicker layer of plaster to create mould strength. The last couple of weeks our juniors have been studying the drawings of Vincent Van Gogh. Students learnt to use line to suggest texture, movement and depth. Assorted fine liners were used for this project. Really pleased with the results. Well done.
